  • Capoeira and Maculele Playshop

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance and music. It was created by slaves brought to Brazil from Africa, during the colonial period. People were brought from many places in Africa, and with them, they brought their cultural traditions. They hid their martial art and traditions into a form of dance. Today Capoeira is practiced all over the world and has become a favorite of men, women, and children of all ages. It creates a sense of community and gives the capoeirista a chance to express themselves through the movements and music. The Axé (positive energy) that is felt after a class leaves you wanting more as it gives you more confidence, strength, and stability to walk through your daily life.
